Whistler

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what better place to be than Whistler. You couldn’t ask for more with beautiful alpine views, snow capped mountains, evergreen forests and a whole host of romantic activities.

So if you’re looking for a way to spend Valentine’s Day in Whistler we thought we’d give you a little helping hand and put together a list of our favourite 10 things:

1. Go skiing!

What else would you do in Whistler?! With the most terrain in North America and large amounts of February snow historically, of course you should go skiing. Not to mention a romantic trip on the Peak2Peak Gondola.

2. Have a spa day

Nothing says romantic like couples massages followed by a relaxing soak in the hot tub. There are a few spas to choose from in Whistler but our favourite is Scandinave Spa which offers massages, hot tubs and a huge array of pools and baths.

3. A romantic meal

Whistler is known for its fantastic restaurants so why not treat your loved one to some world class cuisine. Araxi, Rim Rock and Bearfoot Bistro are often the favourite spots, but remember to book early to save disappointment!

4. Couples bungee jumping

There’s nothing like fear to draw you closer to the one you love. With that in mind, head over to Whistler Bungee and jump off a bridge with your partner. It’s exciting to say the least!

5. Tandem zip-lining

If bungee jumping is a little too extreme for you then why not try zip-lining? There are a number of different lines to choose from, all of which are really exciting and offer great views.

6. Ice skating

There are lots of ice skating options in Whistler – head over to Meadow Park, try the rink in the Olympic Plaza, or if you’re feeling adventuress you can always head out onto one of the many lakes.

7. Cross-country

A lot of people are often sceptical of cross-country skiing, but you shouldn’t knock it before you’ve tried it. Cross-country is great fun and, unlike on the mountain, you can talk as you go round. For more information you can read our full article HERE.

8. A romantic backcountry adventure

For the very adventuress couples Whistler and the surrounding areas are known for their incredible backcountry. There are a number of cabins located for backcountry skiers and snowboarders, but remember to always be prepared and do not enter the backcountry without knowledge and experience.

9. Watch the sunrise

Whistler Blackcomb offers fresh tracks tickets, letting you upload the gondola before everyone else. Here you are provided with an all you can eat buffet and a beautiful view of the sunrise. Not to mention fresh tracks down the mountain!

10. Cosy up inside

And, if all of that’s not your thing you can always cosy up inside and simply enjoy the company of the one you love.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
