Symphony in the Park

This Friday and Saturday there will be more free concerts at the Whistler Olympic Plaza.  However, they won't be the usual (2nd year and I am already calling it usual?) rock or folk concerts.  This time you will be hearing the inspiring music of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky from 8pm to 10pm on both nights.

John Morris Russell will be conducting the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra on both evenings.  The concerts will be featuring violinist Karen Gomyo, a recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2008.  Now I am honestly not usually a huge fan of classical music, but I think this will be a treat!

The concerts in the Olympic plaza have been well received by the tourists in town, however there has been a few complaints about the noise.  I live not too far from the village and I can definitely hear the concerts when they go off.  I am not going to complain about it though tourist in village equals tourist staying in hotels and buying stuff equals tourists buying property because they love it so much.

Then forgetting why they bought and complaining about the noise - but hey that is just me.

Enjoy the Symphony, they weather will be beautiful and the music will be lovely!
