Whistler is the perfect place for families with so many activities and events to keep everyone entertained, so, why not spend Family Day weekend in Whistler with the whole family?
Skiing and snowboarding aren’t the only reasons to visit, there is so much more on offer. There is a plethora of events and activities on any weekend in Whistler, but on special weekends the resort really pushes the boat out!
The Village is a hive of activity and you will find fun round every corner. Whistler is one of those places where you don’t really need to plan anything, just go with the flow and you will have a great time. But, if you want to check out what’s on before you go, here is a snippet of the activities and events you can be a part of on Family Day:
Skiing and snowboarding are the obvious choices here, and skiing with the family is great fun. There are runs to suit all abilities, not to mention hidden gems like the Magic Castle on Whistler and the Tree Fort on Blackcomb!
If you fancy changing it up from skiing but want to stay on the mountain, why not try tubing? It’s fun for the young and the young at heart! Jump into your own tube and slide down the mountain at speed, find out more here.
If the mountain isn’t your thing there are plenty of places to explore in Whistler, or if you want to head indoors there is rock climbing, swimming, skating, trampolining, and even an Escape Room!
There are events happening in Whistler all the time, and this weekend is no different. After skiing there is usually après. But what about Family Après? Not just a Family Day event, Family Après takes place every Monday and Wednesday from December 19 to March 29 at Olympic Plaza.
Family Après includes a variety of entertainment activities that change week to week, including snowman building, skating, tobogganing, music, mini hockey and more!
For the slightly older crowd, every Sunday you can catch the Fire and Ice show at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb. Prepare for live entertainment including ski and snowboard big air displays, fire spinners, live DJs and a fireworks display.
