Halloween in Whistler – it’s almost here! Whether you’re looking for free or paid activities that allow you to indulge in the celebration, there are plenty to choose from. So pull out the costume box, grab a pumpkin carving knife and celebrate the hallmark holiday with one too many candy bars. Here are just a few ways you can enjoy the holiday in and around Whistler:

Nesters Community Halloween Walk

If you’ve never been down to the Nesters suburb of Whistler at Halloween – what are you waiting for? As a tradition that started up years ago, the entire Balsam Way neighbourhood has undergone a spooky Halloween transformation that comes alive on October 31st. With each house as decorated as the last, serving up candy and even some hot drinks and spook-tacular haunted mazes, it’s a great way to see the true spirit of Whistler’s communities.

Haunted House

Whistler has a pop-up haunted house that makes an appearance (mostly) every year. Located in a suburb of Whistler Village, this is run by locals and is quite the production. If you’re in the area for Halloween, be sure to do some research or ask a local to point you in the right direction

Visit Pemberton’s Pumpkin Patch

If you’re looking to check both a) taking in the fall colours and b) visiting a pumpkin patch off the list, a visit to North Arm Farms is a must. Located in Pemberton, this local farm has been a community favourite when it comes to fresh produce and ‘down-home’ fun. Stop in and pick out your own pumpkin from the patch out back, enjoy some lunch, feed the animals or enjoy a wagon ride!

Take a Walk Through Ghost Town

It’s a great time of the year to go outside your comfort zones and indulge in some historic, haunted activities. For those of you who would prefer to take yourself on a guided tour, why not discover Whistler’s Parkhurst Ghost Town. Located on the other side of Green Lake, see what treasures and haunted dwellings you can find on your walk.

Trick or Treating in Whistler Village

Hit the cobblestone streets of Whistler Village this year to partake in some good old fashion trick or treating! This year the event is taking place from October 25-27^th and will see upwards of 40 businesses participating in handing out goodies to dressed up kids. Stop by a visitor centre to pick up a map of participating vendors. Not sure what to dress up as?  Stop by the face painting in the village on Saturday for some ideas! These are just a few ways you can get involved in the Halloween spirit, however, there are plenty of other options out there. Several of the Whistler nightclubs and bars host costume parties. There are various art galleries and businesses that host various events. Even the local cinema hosts the ‘Double Header of Horror’ for those who love a good scare! There is even a Halloween costume bike ride taking place in town. Ask around so you don’t miss out on the fun!
