Every year in Whistler it seems like there is something new to discover, or a new event added to the huge roster of events.

This summer is no different, with a plethora of activities, festivals and events to take you all the way through to another winter. For many, summer in Whistler is an unknown and they only associate the area with winter. But, that quickly changes after spending any amount of time in or around the village over the summer months.

With so much on it’s hard to know where to start, so here are some little tips so you don’t miss out this summer in Whistler:

Activities

There are so many activities throughout the summer months, it’s too hard to name them all. There is something for everyone, from those who just love relaxing in the sun, to the extreme sports lovers.

Biking: Aside from being a ski resort, Whistler is also known for having perhaps the best mountain bike park in the world, along with a huge network of trails in the valley. Biking is a big deal here!

Hiking: As the snow recedes and the earth is exposed you can find hiking trails pretty much everywhere, with routes for all abilities and levels of fitness. Check out what’s on offer.

Exploring: There’s nothing better than discovering something new. Why not go and explore, check out a new lake, wander around the mountain, and find your next adventure.

Festivals

Whistler and the surrounding areas are lucky enough to host a number of festivals throughout summer, ranging from music to sport and lifestyle.

Pemberton Festival (Jul 14-17): Taking place just north of Whistler in Pemberton, this festival sees world-renowned musicians take to the stage below the impressive backdrop of Mount Currie. Find out more.

Wanderlust (Jul 28-Aug 1): Wanderlust is a celebration of wellness, yoga and music. This festival encapsulates finding yourself and improving your lifestyle in the outdoors.

Crankworx (Aug 12-21): The largest mountain bike festival in the world takes place every summer in Whistler. Take part in the action or catch one of the most impressive spectacles in extreme sport!

Whistler Beer Festival (Sep 16-18): Over 80 breweries come to Whistler to celebrate beer in the mountains. Not much more needs to be said! Find out more.

Events

Along with all the festivals and activities there are lots of on-going and one-off events in the village.

Farmers’ Market (Jun 5-Oct 9): Featuring a huge number of local producers, artisans and more. The Whistler Farmers’ Market takes place every week in the Upper Village. Visit the official site HERE.

Ironman Canada (Jul 24): The Canadian faction of one of the toughest triathlons in the world takes place every year in Whistler. It is a spectacle to behold! Find out more.
