Whistler Blackcomb is consistently voted North America’s No.1 Ski Resort and receives huge numbers of visitors every year. Here at Whistler Real Estate we love data and statistics, so we thought we’d put together some quick facts about the resort and the surrounding area!

Resort Stats

Whistler’s permanent population is actually relatively small with 9,825 permanent residents, according to a 2011 consensus. In addition there are 2,266 seasonal residents, and 11,522 second-home owners.

Amazingly, that means that there are more second-home owners and seasonal workers than there are permanent residents! But that’s just resort life.

Aside from those with properties in Whistler, annual visitation from tourist traffic amounts to approximately 2.14 million visitors/year, which is approximately a daily population equivalent of 28,289!
